The Design and Preparation of Antibacterial Polymer Brushes with Phthalocyanine Pigments

Phthalocyanine pigments have many problems in waterborne coating applications because of their low polarity, poor dispersion water, and easy agglomeration properties. In order to solve these problems, the phthalocyanine were encapsulated with a copolymer methyl methacrylate (MMA) butyl acrylate (BA) by mini-emulsion polymerization method. The are effectively dispersed water good compatibility resin. Concerning bacterial reproduction growth problem for system, resin-encapsulated further grafted antibacterial polymer poly(N-(2-hydroxyethyl) acrylamide) (PHEAA) on its surface using photoemulsion technique. Comprehensive properties, including centrifugal stability chromaticity change, studied. encapsulation improved pigment. thermogravimetric results showed that residual mass C.I. Pigment Green 7 (52.30%) was higher than Blue 15:3 (30.06%), sublimation fastness PG7 higher. TEM revealed shape after grafting more regular PB15:3. L* pigment decreased but then increased grafting. composite latex had properties PHEAA.
